Crew Clothing Return Policy: the 28-day rule, the 14-day sale rule

You buy a new top and it feels like a clean white page. Then you try it on at home and the fit is not right. The cuff sits odd. The size feels tight. The shade looks off in your own light.

That is when you need the Crew Cloth-ing re-turn pol-i-cy in plain words. Not a wall of small text. Just the key time rules, what must stay on the item, where you can take it back, and how long the cash can take to land in your bank.

This guide is for Crew Cloth-ing Com-pa-ny (crewclothing.co.uk). It co-vers web buys, shop buys, gift re-turns, and in-ter-na-tion-al re-turns. It also co-vers the Christ-mas ex-tend-ed re-turn time that runs to a set date.

The main rule: 28 days, with tags on, in clean shape

Crew says you can re-turn your buy with-in 28 days as long as it is in its o-rig-i-nal con-di-tion, with tags on, and you have proof of buy. The item must be un-used, in its o-rig pack, and in a shape that lets Crew sell it a-gain.

That “sell it a-gain” line is the heart of it. If it looks shop-fresh, you are in good shape. If it looks worn, washed, or marked, you may hit a wall.

A good home rule is: try it on like you would in a shop. Clean hands. No food. No drink. No strong scent spray. If it is not right, take it off and put it back at once.

Sale items: treat it like 14 days

Crew’s help pages say you have 28 days for most buys, or 14 days if you bought a sale item. So if you hit a deal and you are not sure on size, do not wait.

Sale can feel like “I got time.” Then two weeks pass in a blink. A box in a hall can turn in-to a box you for-get, and day 15 can come fast.

If you are not sure if your line is “sale,” look at your or-der mail or your ac-count page. If the price was cut, play it safe and act in that 14-day win-dow.

Christ-mas ex-tend-ed re-turn time: check the date on your buy

Crew set an ex-tend-ed Christ-mas re-turn time for a set buy span. It says all full-price and sale items bought from 13 Oc-to-ber 2025 can be re-turned or ex-changed un-til 23 Jan-u-ar-y 2026, if you have a re-ceipt.

To-day is Jan-u-ar-y 22, 2026, so that ex-tend-ed win-dow still helps right now, but the end date is near. If your item was bought in that span and you plan to send it back, do not wait.

Lost re-ceipt? Crew says you can still do an ex-change in a Crew shop at the cur-rent sell price, as long as the item is un-worn.

What you can’t send back (un-less it is fault-y)

Crew calls out a few lines that do not go back in a “change my mind” re-turn.

Per-son-al-ised items do not go back un-less fault-y or not as said.

Un-der-wear and box-er shorts do not go back un-less fault-y or not as said.

Socks that have been tried on do not go back un-less fault-y or not as said.

Swim-wear on-ly goes back if the hy-giene strip is still there and not bro-ken. If that strip is gone, the re-turn door can shut.

This is not Crew be-ing harsh for fun. It is a hy-giene rule. Once a seal is broke, the shop can-not sell it a-gain as new.

Where you can re-turn: Crew shop or post

Crew gives two main paths: take it to a Crew shop, or send it back by post.

Shop re-turns are the most calm path if you live near one. Post re-turns are great if you do not.

One key note: Crew says it can-not take re-turns bought from con-ces-sion shops at those con-ces-sion sites. It also says con-ces-sion shops (in-clud-ing Hoop-ers) can-not take on-line re-turns or re-turns bought in a dif-fer-ent shop. So, if you bought in a con-ces-sion, go back to that same con-ces-sion for the steps.

Re-turn in a Crew shop: fast, no print-er, and you get an on-the-spot pro-cess

Crew says shop re-turns are free and no print-er is need-ed. Bring proof of buy for a re-fund or ex-change.

In a shop re-turn, Crew says your re-turn is pro-cessed at once to the card you paid with. Then the bank part kicks in. Crew notes it can take 3 to 5 days for the funds to show in your bank, based on your bank.

So if you hand it back on a Tues-day, do not stress if you do not see the cash that same day. The till has done its job, but your bank still has to post it.

Post re-turn: fill the form, use the on-line tool, then pick EVRi or Roy-al Mail

Crew also has a post re-turn path with a track-a-ble flow.

It says to fill in the re-turn form on your de-spatch note and put it in the par-cel. Then you can make a la-bel or a pa-per-less QR code with the on-line re-turn tool.

From there, Crew gives post op-tions. One help page shows EVRi Par-cel-Shops as an op-tion, with a wide shop net-work and long open hours. It also shows Roy-al Mail as an op-tion, with Post Of-fice sites and Roy-al Mail ser-vice points.

There is also a Roy-al Mail home pick-up op-tion in the help flow. In that case, you make the re-turn in the tool, then you go to the Roy-al Mail site to book a pick-up slot.

Each path aims at the same end: your par-cel gets back to Crew, Crew checks it, then Crew sends the re-fund.

How long a post re-fund can take

Crew gives two time hints, so it helps to set a safe mind set.

One Crew page says re-funds are pro-cessed with-in 7 work days of Crew get-ting the par-cel, but it may take more time in a busy sale spell.

A Crew help page also says you should get your re-fund with-in 14 days for post re-turns, and it may take a bit more time in a busy time.

The easy way to think of it is: once the par-cel lands with Crew, give it up to 14 days for the shop side. Then give your bank 3 to 5 more work days to show it in your ac-count, since Crew says the bank post can lag.

Save the mail you get when the re-fund is done. Crew says it will send a mail when your re-fund is pro-cessed. That mail is your “green light.”

Do you pay for re-turn post?

Crew lists shop re-turns as free. It also lists EVRi and Roy-al Mail post re-turns as free on its re-turn pages for the UK.

In short: in the UK, Crew aims to make it low cost to send it back, as long as you use its set re-turn flow.

For in-ter-na-tion-al re-turns, the cost is not the same. That is a dif-fer-ent lane, and the fee is clear on Crew’s in-ter-na-tion-al re-turn page.

Ex-change: the fast way is of-ten “re-fund, then buy a-new”

Crew’s help page says if you want a new size, style, or col-our, the fast path is to send the item back for a re-fund and then place a new or-der. That way you do not sit and wait for a swap to clear be-fore the new item ships.

This can help in sale time, when sizes can sell out fast. If you wait for a slow swap flow, your size may be gone by the time the sys-tem is ready.

If you do not want to place a new or-der, a shop ex-change can still work well if you live near a Crew shop and the size is in stock.

Shop buys: with a re-ceipt you can get cash back, with-out it you can still swap

If you bought in a Crew shop, the rules are clear.

With a re-ceipt, Crew says you can take it back to a shop for a full re-fund or an ex-change.

If you do not have your re-ceipt, or you have a gift re-ceipt, Crew says it can of-fer an ex-change at the cur-rent sell price of the item.

So the re-ceipt is the key to cash back. No re-ceipt usu-al-ly means “swap” at to-day’s price, not a re-fund to your card.

Gift re-turns: quick in shop, and the re-fund can go to a gift card

Gift re-turns can feel awk-ward. You do not want to call the gift giver and ask for card de-tails.

Crew says gift re-turns are much fast-er in a Crew shop. Bring your gift re-ceipt and Crew can do the ex-change you want, or it can re-fund you to a gift card.

If you can-not get to a shop, Crew says to get in touch with its cus-tom-er care team. They can make a pre-paid re-turn la-bel for you.

That gift card re-fund is a clean fix. It lets you pick what you like, and it keeps the gift giver’s card de-tails out of the mix.

In-ter-na-tion-al re-turns: 28 days, 14 for sale, and a fee

If you bought from out-side the UK via Crew’s in-ter-na-tion-al flow, Crew has a set re-turn page for that.

It says you get 28 days to de-cide, ex-cept sale items, where you get 14 days. You need the o-rig re-ceipt for a re-fund.

It also says in-ter-na-tion-al re-turns cost £10.00, charged in your lo-cal cur-ren-cy, and you book the re-turn in a spe-cif-ic re-turn por-tal.

For hy-giene lines, the rule stays firm: un-der-wear does not go back un-less fault-y, and swim-wear on-ly goes back if it is un-worn with the hy-giene strip and la-bels in place.

EU “cool-off” right: 14 days to can-cel a web buy

Crew’s terms say that if you are an EU con-sum-er, you have up to 14 days from the day af-ter you get your or-der to can-cel and re-turn goods you bought from them. It also says you can can-cel with a can-cel form or by con-tact-ing their cus-tom-er care team.

This sits a-long-side Crew’s own re-turn win-dow. In plain talk, the EU gives a base line right, and Crew also of-fers its own shop re-turn rules. If you are in the EU, it helps to act fast and keep a note of the day you asked to can-cel.

Fault-y or wrong item: take pics and act fast

If your item is fault-y, do not treat it like a “change my mind” re-turn. Treat it like a fix case.

Take a few clear pics in good light. One pic of the full item. One of the fault up close. One of the tags.

Then use the Crew help path to get help. When you write in, keep it short. Or-der num. What is wrong. Add the pics. A short note with clear pics is like a torch in a dark shed.

How to try on at home with-out wreck-ing your re-turn

The best re-turn is the one you do not need, but the next best is the one that goes smooth.

For tops, try it on with no belt bag or sharp zip near the knit. Snags can hap-pen fast.

For pants, keep feet clean and dry. If the hem drags on wet ground, it can pick up marks.

For shoes, test on a clean rug in-side. Do not step out on grit. A sole that has grit can look worn in one short walk.

For swim-wear, do not pull the hy-giene strip off to “see how it feels.” Keep it on for a fit check. Once the strip is gone, you can lose the re-turn path.

Put the item back in the same bag or box, with tags on, till you are sure you will keep it. That one habit saves a lot of grief.

Why your re-fund can feel slow (and when to ping care)

Two bits add time: the ship leg, and the bank post leg.

If you did a post re-turn, the par-cel still has to move. Then Crew has to check it and pro-cess the re-fund. Then your bank has to post it.

Crew says shop re-funds can take 3 to 5 days to show in your bank. For post re-turns, Crew says you should see the re-fund with-in 14 days, and you will get a mail when it is done, then the bank may take 3 to 5 more work days.

If you are past those time marks, then it is fair to reach out. Have your track scan, your or-der num, and the date you sent it. That gives care what they need to find it fast.

High-end Am-a-zon gear (2k+) that can help if you ship lots of re-turns

Most peo-ple do not need pro gear to send back one shirt. Tape and a box is fine.

But if you run a small shop, re-sell a lot, or ship each week, a few high-end Am-a-zon buys can make the work less rough.

A Ze-bra ZT610 la-bel print-er is a shop-grade unit and is of-ten $2,000+ on Am-a-zon. If you print la-bels all day, it can cut bad scans and save time.

A pro cam kit like a Can-on EOS R5 Mark II kit or a So-ny a7R V kit can hit $2,000+ on Am-a-zon, based on the kit. Clear pics help when a box shows harm or a seam has a fault and you need proof.

A high spec 16-inch Mac-Book Pro can al-so sit past $2,000 on Am-a-zon. If you keep lots of or-der mails, track scans, and pics, a fast lap-top can help you pull it all in a blink.

A fire safe from a brand like Steel-wa-ter can al-so run $2,000+ on Am-a-zon for big mod-els. If you keep re-ceipts, tax files, and ship logs, a safe is a steel nest that keeps it all in one spot.

Last check be-fore you send it back

Be-fore you seal the box, do a quick scan.

Is it with-in 28 days, or with-in 14 days if it is sale, or with-in the ex-tend-ed Christ-mas date if your buy fits that span?

Is it un-used, clean, tags on, and in the right pack?

Is it not in the “no re-turn” hy-giene group, or if it is, is it fault-y?

Do you have proof of buy, or a gift re-ceipt?

If the an-swers are yes, your odds are good. Your re-turn will feel like a short walk, not a long slog.
