Peloton Return Policy: Bikes, Treads, Row, Accessories & Apparel
Peloton gear isn’t cheap, so it’s normal to want a clear picture of what happens if you change your mind. Whether you’re eyeing a Bike, Tread, Row, or just a hoodie, Peloton’s return rules depend on what you bought, where you bought it, and where you live.
This guide explains the current Peloton return policy in simple terms so you know your options before you hit “Place order.”
Peloton Return Policy in a Nutshell
- Hardware (Bike, Bike+, Tread, Tread+, Row, Guide):
- 30-day Home Trial for eligible hardware in many markets.
- First-time purchasers only, usually one trial per household.
- You must start the return within 30 days of delivery.
- In the US and some other regions, a return fee is deducted from your refund for Bikes/Treads/Row.
- Accessories (shoes, weights, mats, etc.):
- Generally 30 days from purchase for a refund.
- Must be returned in original packaging and like-new condition.
- Peloton apparel:
- Standard policy: 30 days from purchase for a refund or exchange (online or in-store), if unworn, unwashed, with tags attached.
- Holiday 2025–26: purchases made roughly Nov 21–Jan 5 can be returned or exchanged within 60 days of purchase.
- Region differences:
- UK/Australia: Peloton describes a 30-day discretionary return policy in addition to local legal cancellation rights.
- Canada and other markets follow similar timelines but may use different wording and fees.
- Membership & digital orders: App and All-Access Membership fees, gift cards, and digital goods follow separate terms and are often non-refundable once billed or redeemed.
Returning Peloton Equipment (Bike, Bike+, Tread, Tread+, Row, Guide)
30-Day Home Trial for Hardware
Peloton’s main return framework for hardware is its 30-day Home Trial. In the US and many other markets, it works like this:
- Eligible products: New Peloton Bike, Bike+, Tread, Tread+, and Row (and often Guide, depending on region and promo).
- Who qualifies:
- Usually first-time purchasers only of that type of Peloton hardware.
- Limited to one trial per household/delivery address.
- Timing: You have 30 days from delivery to start a return.
- Location limits: In the US, the Home Trial is typically available in the 48 contiguous states. Remote locations may be excluded.
If you return within the Home Trial window, Peloton will arrange pickup and refund your order, but in many regions there is now a non-refundable return fee for Bikes, Treads, and Row.
Return Fees for Home Trial (US example)
Peloton used to offer completely free returns during the Home Trial period, but now charges a return fee in the US for eligible hardware. Current typical fees are:
- Bike / Bike+: $150 return fee
- Tread / Tread+: $250 return fee
- Row: $250 return fee
This fee is deducted from your refund if you send the product back within the 30-day Home Trial. Delivery and any assembly fees are also generally non-refundable.
In some markets (for example Canada), Peloton notes that returns made outside of the Home Trial or outside official programs can involve higher shipping/return charges, especially for large equipment like Bikes and Treads.
Peloton Guide Returns
The Peloton Guide (camera-based strength device) has its own line in the policy:
- Return window: typically 30 days from delivery.
- Condition: Must be returned with original packaging and accessories.
- Responsibility: Peloton is not responsible for Guide returns lost in transit without valid tracking, so always use the provided label and keep proof of shipment.
General Conditions for Hardware Returns
Regardless of model, hardware returns usually follow these rules:
- The product must be in good working condition with no significant damage beyond normal testing use.
- All original components must be present:
- Power cords and adapters
- Safety keys (for Treads)
- Touchscreen and mounting hardware
- Any accessories included in the base hardware package
- Returned equipment must be accessible for pickup (for example, not bolted down or blocked in a way that prevents movers from removing it safely).
If your equipment is heavily damaged, missing major parts, or not accessible for pickup, Peloton may reject the return or reduce your refund.
How to Start a Peloton Hardware Return
- Check your delivery date. Confirm you are still within the 30-day Home Trial window.
- Sign in to your Peloton account or find your order confirmation email.
- Contact Peloton Member Support:
- Use the support site, in-account chat, or phone number listed in your region.
- Tell them you want to return your hardware under the Home Trial or return policy.
- Schedule pickup. Peloton will coordinate a pickup date and time with their delivery partner.
- Prepare your equipment.
- Remove personal items and wipe down the equipment.
- Unplug and detach any removable accessories that didn’t come with the machine.
- Make sure the path is clear so the delivery team can remove it safely.
- Wait for inspection and refund. Once Peloton receives and checks the hardware, they’ll process your refund minus any applicable return fee and non-refundable charges.
Peloton Accessory Returns (Shoes, Weights, Mats & More)
Peloton sells accessories like cycling shoes, weights, mats, heart rate monitors, and more. These follow a simpler return policy than the big equipment.
- Return window: Typically 30 days from purchase for a refund.
- Where bought: The policy applies to accessories purchased from the Peloton website or Peloton showrooms. Items bought from other retailers follow the retailer’s rules.
- Condition:
- Must be in new or like-new condition.
- Must be shipped with all original packaging and included parts.
- Used, heavily worn, or damaged accessories are usually not eligible for a return.
- How to return:
- Start through the Peloton support site or your order history.
- Peloton will give you instructions and (in many cases) a shipping label.
- Refunds:
- Go back to the original payment method once the items are received and inspected.
- Original shipping fees are generally non-refundable.
Accessories that came as part of a hardware bundle may need to be returned with the main device if you’re sending the entire package back. If you only return part of a bundle, Peloton may recalculate discounts before issuing a partial refund.
Peloton Apparel Return Policy
Peloton apparel orders are handled through a dedicated apparel site and have their own detailed policy. The basics are similar across regions but with some local twists.
US & Canada – Apparel Returns
For the Peloton Apparel US and CA sites, the main rules are:
- Standard window: Apparel items purchased online or in Peloton retail stores can usually be returned for a full refund within 30 days of the original purchase date.
- Condition:
- Items must be unwashed, unworn, and with original tags attached.
- Items marked final sale or non-refundable at checkout cannot be returned.
- Where to return:
- Online apparel purchases must be returned by mail using the apparel returns portal.
- Apparel bought in a Peloton retail store must be returned in that store or another Peloton apparel location, depending on local guidance.
- Holiday 2025–26 extension:
- Orders placed between about November 21 and January 5 get an extended return/exchange window of 60 days from the original purchase date.
- Refund details:
- Refunds go back to the original payment method.
- Original shipping fees are not refunded.
- Peloton may limit returns without proof of purchase.
UK & EU – Apparel Returns
Peloton Apparel UK (and similar EU policies) have a slightly more detailed structure because of local consumer laws:
- Discretionary return policy:
- Peloton offers a 30-day discretionary return policy in addition to your legal right to change your mind.
- You must tell Peloton you want to return the product within 30 days of your original purchase date.
- Legal right to cancel:
- Most customers also have a 14-day legal cancellation period from the day after delivery, during which they can change their mind and get a refund (including standard delivery charges), as long as items are returned in suitable condition.
- Return process:
- Use the apparel returns portal to generate a prepaid label or contact support to get one.
- Send the product using the prepaid label within a set number of days, typically 14 days after generating the label.
- Keep proof of posting and tracking; if Peloton never receives the parcel and you have no tracking, they may not refund.
- Condition requirements:
- Items must be “as new” – unworn, unwashed, with hangtags/labels intact and original packaging included.
- Certain items (headwear, underwear, socks, water bottles, in-ear headphones, shoes) cannot be returned if unsealed or clearly worn, for hygiene reasons.
- Refund timing:
- Peloton aims to refund within about 14 days of receiving the product back.
- Refunds go to your original payment method.
Peloton also reserves the right to refuse returns, or reduce the refund, if items show heavy wear, damage, or missing parts, or if there is suspected abuse of the returns system.
Returns from Other Retailers
If you bought Peloton gear from a third-party retailer (for example, a department store or big-box electronics shop), your return must follow that retailer’s policy, not Peloton’s direct policy.
- Check the retailer’s receipt or help center for their return window and conditions.
- Peloton will still support hardware for warranty issues, but they won’t refund purchases made through other sellers.
Refunds: How & When You Get Your Money Back
For eligible returns, Peloton refunds you after your item is received and inspected.
- Destination: Refunds are sent back to your original payment method (card, financing partner, etc.).
- Timing:
- Hardware refunds typically appear within 7–10 business days after Peloton processes the return.
- Apparel refunds usually complete within 5–14 business days, depending on region.
- Your bank or card issuer might add their own processing time.
- What’s not refunded:
- Return fee for Home Trial hardware (in applicable regions).
- Original delivery and assembly fees.
- Original shipping on apparel and accessory orders.
- Interest paid to financing partners, in some cases.
If you used gift cards or credits, Peloton may refund those amounts back as credits, rather than cash, depending on the promotion.
Peloton Return Policy – Quick FAQ
How long do I have to return a Peloton Bike, Tread, or Row?
For eligible purchases, Peloton offers a 30-day Home Trial. You must start your return within 30 days of delivery. In the US and some other markets, a return fee (for example, $150 for Bike/Bike+ and $250 for Tread/Tread+/Row) is deducted from your refund.
Is the Peloton 30-day Home Trial really only once per household?
Yes. The Home Trial terms typically state that it’s for first-time purchasers and limited to one trial per household/delivery address for each type of hardware.
Can I return Peloton accessories and apparel?
Yes. Most Peloton accessories and apparel items bought from Peloton can be returned within about 30 days, as long as they’re unused, unwashed, unworn, and in original packaging with tags. Some hygiene-sensitive items and final-sale products can’t be returned.
Can I exchange Peloton items instead of returning them?
Peloton’s hardware program focuses on returns rather than direct exchanges; if you want a different model or color, you usually return the original and place a new order. For apparel, many regions treat everything as a return plus new purchase rather than a classic exchange, though some portals use “exchange” wording for convenience.
What if I bought my Peloton from another store?
If you purchased Peloton hardware or apparel from another retailer, you must follow that store’s own return policy. Peloton can help with warranty issues on genuine hardware but won’t process a refund for a third-party sale.
Are Peloton Memberships refundable?
Memberships (App or All-Access) are governed by separate Membership Terms. As a rule, charges already billed are not refunded, but you can normally cancel future renewals at any time.
