FatFace Return Policy: the 28-day clock, the £2.50 fee

A FatFace par-cel can feel like a warm mug on a cold day. You cut the tape, pull out a knit or a coat, and for a beat you feel like you nailed it. Then you try it on and the fit is off. The sleeves sit long. The waist feels tight. The col-our is not what you saw on your screen.

That is when you need the FatFace re-turn pol-i-cy in plain words. Not a maze. Not a wall of fine print. Just: how long do I have, where do I take it, what must stay on the item, what fees may come off my re-fund, and how long the cash can take to show.

This guide is based on FatFace terms for the UK site, plus notes for Ire-land and the US site, since the rules shift by coun-try. If you want one safe move right now, it is this: look at the web site you bought from (UK, Ire-land, US) and fol-low that lane. Do not mix lanes.

First, pick your lane: UK, Ire-land, or US

FatFace has dif-fer-ent terms by re-gion. The UK terms talk a lot about store re-turns and Evri. The Ire-land terms talk about FatFace and Next stores in the Re-pub-lic of Ire-land, plus post re-turns paid by you. The US terms talk about free post re-turns, and they say on-line buys must go back by post for a re-fund.

That means the “FatFace re-turn pol-i-cy” you need is tied to the flag on the site you used at check-out. If you are in the UK but you bought from the US site, use the US rules. If you are in Ire-land but you bought from the UK site, use the UK rules.

UK on-line re-turns: you get 28 days from de-liv-er-y

On the UK site, FatFace says you can send most items back in a new and un-used state, with tags on, and in the o-rig pack where you can, with-in 28 days from the day the goods were de-liv-ered. That 28 days ap-plies if your or-der came to your home, and it also ap-plies if you picked “de-liv-er-y to store.”

That clock starts when the par-cel lands, not when you feel like open-ing it. So treat day one like a try-on day. Do a fast fit check at home. If it is wrong, start the re-turn right then, while the path is wide.

FatFace also says this 28-day time is 14 days more than the law “cool-off” right for on-line buys. That is nice, but do not lean on it. A late post or a busy week can burn days fast.

UK sale items: 15 days can ap-ply

On the UK terms page, FatFace notes that the stand-ard re-turn is 28 days, and it also notes 15 days for sale in the part on ex-tend-ed re-turns. The safe play is to treat sale as a short-er clock. If you bought sale, do not wait. Try it on soon and move fast if you plan to send it back.

If you are not sure if your item counts as “sale,” check your or-der mail, your des-patch note, or the item page in your ac-count area. A short clock can be the dif-fer-ence be-tween a clean re-fund and a dead end.

UK store re-turns: free in most FatFace and Next stores

In the UK, FatFace says you can re-turn an on-line or-der to most FatFace and Next stores, and that this is free. It also says air-port stores (FatFace or Next) do not take re-turns.

If you live near a store, this is the calm path. No print-er. No tape. No drop-off hunt. Take your item and your de-liv-er-y note with you. The note helps staff match your re-turn to your or-der.

FatFace also says some items can-not be re-turned to stores. Those are in the ex-cep-tions part in their terms, and it is worth a quick read if your item is in the “skin and seal” zone, like pierced jew-el-ry or cos-met-ics.

UK re-turns by cou-ri-er col-lec-tion: a £2.50 fee per col-lec-tion

If you want a door-step pick-up, FatFace says most re-turn col-lec-tions from your home are charged at £2.50 per col-lec-tion. The UK terms also say col-lec-tions in North-ern Ire-land are £2.50.

That fee is per col-lec-tion, even if you send back more than one or-der in that one pick-up. So, if you have two boxes to send back, it can make sense to pack them for one col-lec-tion, not two. Two pick-ups can mean two fees.

FatFace says if you paid by card, Klar-na, Pay-Pal, or Ap-ple Pay, the £2.50 charge is tak-en off your re-fund. If you paid with a Next cred-it ac-count, the charge can be put on your ac-count when the re-turn gets in.

UK Evri Par-cel-Shop re-turns: you need the “peel off” la-bel

FatFace also lets you re-turn some items via an Evri Par-cel-Shop. In its terms, it says fash-ion and small home items (not elec-tric) in a new and un-used state can go back this way.

Here is the key detail: you need the “peel off” re-turn la-bel from the o-rig des-patch note. FatFace says with-out that, the Evri re-turn can-not be done at the shop. So do not toss your des-patch note on day one. Keep it with the box till you know you will keep your gear.

FatFace also says you do not need the o-rig bag for the Evri Par-cel-Shop re-turn, but you do need a sealed, safe par-cel with the la-bel on it. Think of the par-cel like a jam jar. If the lid is loose, mess can leak out.

UK item shape rules: “new, un-used, tags on” is the gate

FatFace says items should be new and un-used, with tags on. In the Evri part, it adds a clear line: if tags are re-moved, it may not be able to proc-ess a re-fund.

That means you should do your fit test with tags on. Try it on in a clean room. No food. No drink. No strong scent spray. Then fold it back up and pack it right back in.

This is not about be-ing fussy. It is about keep-ing your re-turn in the “new” box. A small mark can turn a smooth re-turn in-to a long email trail.

UK re-fund time: up to 7 days once it hits the re-turns cen-tre

FatFace says re-funds are made once the par-cel gets back to its Re-turns Cen-tre, and it notes this may take up to 7 days.

That is the store side. Your bank can add more days on top. So if you drop a par-cel off on Mon-day, do not plan your Fri-day plans on that cash al-ready sit-ting in your ac-count.

Want less stress? Save your proof of drop-off. Evri gives proof at the shop. A pho-to of that slip is a good back-up if the scan takes time.

UK ex-cep-tions: air-port stores, “per-son-al-ise me,” and hy-giene items

FatFace lists a few ex-cep-tions in its UK terms.

It says it can-not take re-turns via Next and FatFace air-port stores. It also says “per-son-al-ise me” items can-not be re-turned through stores.

Then there is the hy-giene group. FatFace says pierced jew-el-ry, cos-met-ics, and toi-le-tries can-not be re-turned if they are un-wrapped or un-sealed, un-less the item is faulty.

So if you buy any item that comes sealed, keep the seal whole if you may re-turn it. Once a seal is broke, the re-turn door can shut.

UK “high re-turn rate” note for Next cred-it ac-counts

In the UK terms, there is a note that Next, on be-half of FatFace, may pause or stop your a-bil-i-ty to or-der more items on a Next cred-it ac-count if your re-turn rate is too high when set next to what you keep.

If you use that cred-it ac-count and you tend to buy lots of sizes to try at home, this note is worth know-ing. It is a bit like a club stamp card. If you stamp too much in the “send back” box and not much in the “keep” box, the club may say “slow down.”

UK ex-tend-ed re-turns: the 2025 hol-i-day win-dow (now past)

FatFace set an ex-tend-ed re-turn time for buys made be-tween 16 Sep-tem-ber 2025 and 24 De-cem-ber 2025. Those buys could be re-turned up to 11 Jan-u-ar-y 2026.

To-day is past that date, so that ex-tend-ed win-dow is done. New hol-i-day dates may show up in a new year. If you shop near gift time, check the terms in that sea-son.

Ire-land on-line re-turns: 28 days (15 for sale)

On the Ire-land site terms, FatFace says you can send back un-worn items in their o-rig state with-in 28 days of get-ting your or-der for a full re-fund. It also says 15 days for sale items.

The Ire-land terms also point out the law “cool-off” right, but the FatFace store re-turn win-dow sits at 28 days for most items. If you bought sale in Ire-land, treat it like a sprint, not a stroll.

Ire-land store re-turns: FatFace and Next stores, re-fund in five days

In the Re-pub-lic of Ire-land, the terms say you can take the item to any FatFace or Next store with your de-liv-er-y note. It also says re-turns made in store will be cred-it-ed back to your pay way with-in 5 days.

If you live near a store, this can be the best route. It is like tak-ing a short foot path in-stead of a long road.

Ire-land post re-turns: you pay the post cost, re-fund in seven days from re-ceipt

The Ire-land terms say you can re-turn by post with the re-turn la-bel on your de-liv-er-y note, but the post cost is paid by you. It also says the item will be cred-it-ed to your pay way with-in 7 days of the goods ar-riv-ing back.

That means you should pick a tracked post op-tion. If a par-cel goes miss-ing, a tracked slip is your proof that it left your hands.

US on-line re-turns: free post re-turns, but no in-store re-fund for on-line buys

On the US terms page, FatFace says post re-turns are free and you can use the pre-paid re-turn la-bel on the back of the de-liv-er-y note. It also says on-line buys must be re-turned by post for a re-fund, and it says it can-not take those on-line buys in its stores.

That is a big dif-fer-ence from the UK lane. In the UK lane, you can walk in-to a store and hand the item back. In the US lane, the site says you need to mail it back for a re-fund.

The US terms also say some jew-el-ry can on-ly be re-turned if faulty, and that if a prod-uct has a se-cur-i-ty seal, a re-fund will not be giv-en if the seal is bro-ken, un-less faulty. So, once a seal is off, the door can shut.

US in-store buys: the date on your re-ceipt can change the rule

The US terms page has a spe-cif-ic note on in-store buys tied to a date range. It says all in-store buys made on or af-ter 12 Au-gust are fi-nal sale, with no re-funds or ex-chang-es. It also lists dif-fer-ent day counts for buys made be-fore that date.

That type of date rule can be tied to store clos-ings or a spe-cif-ic time. So if you buy in a store in the US, look at your re-ceipt and ask staff at the till if you are not sure. The re-ceipt is the truth slip for in-store buys.

How to do a clean re-turn, with-out wreck-ing your odds

Re-turn rules read dry, but the real world is where it counts. Most failed re-turns come from small slips. A tag cut off. A scent stain. A boot worn out-side once. A seal peeled off “just to see.”

When your FatFace box lands, do a calm three-step run. Step one: keep the des-patch note and the la-bel page safe. Step two: try on fast, in-side, with tags on. Step three: if you plan to re-turn, pack it back the same day and start the re-turn route that fits your land.

Think of the tag like a wrist-band at a show. If the band is still on, you are still in the gate. If it is cut, the gate man may say no.

What to do if your item is faulty

All re-tail rules make room for fault-y goods. FatFace says hy-giene seals and un-sealed items can still be re-turned if faulty. That is a key line.

If your item is fault-y, take clear pics right a-way. Take one pic of the full item, one of the fault up close, and one of the la-bel or SKU tag. Then get in touch with the help team for your re-gion. Keep the note short and clean. Or-der num, what is wrong, and the pics.

This is like show-ing a crack in a wall to a build-er. A clear pic gets you a fix far fast-er than a long rant.

Why your re-fund can look “short”

In the UK lane, there can be a £2.50 re-turn fee when you use a col-lec-tion route, and that fee can come off your re-fund if you paid by card, Klar-na, Pay-Pal, or Ap-ple Pay. If you sent back one tee and you see a small gap, that fee can be why.

In Ire-land, post re-turns cost you the post price, so you will feel that cost out of pock-et, not as a cut from the re-fund. In the US, post re-turns are said to be free, but you still want to keep your drop proof, so you do not lose track.

If you buy a lot on-line: high-end Am-a-zon gear ($2,000+) that can make re-turn life less dull

If you buy one FatFace item a year, skip this part. A roll of tape is fine. But if you shop on-line a lot, or you run a small re-sale page and send boxes each week, a few high-end tools can make the job feel less like drag-ging a sled up a hill.

A Ze-bra ZT610 la-bel print-er is a pro la-bel rig that is oft-en over $2,000 on Am-a-zon. If you print ship la-bels all the time, a pro unit can save you from jam-ming, smears, and lost scans.

A high-end cam kit can help with fault pics and sell pics. A Can-on EOS R5 Mark II kit, or a So-ny a7R V kit, can land at $2,000+ on Am-a-zon, based on the kit. Clear pics can help when you need to show a seam pull or a mark with no doubt.

A 16-inch Mac-Book Pro in a high spec set-up is oft-en $2,000+ on Am-a-zon. If you keep lots of or-der mails, track nums, and pics, a fast lap-top can help you pull what you need fast when a re-fund is still in flight.

A safe from a brand like AM-SEC can also hit $2,000+ on Am-a-zon for some mod-els. If you keep re-ceipts, tax pa-pers, and ship logs, a safe is a steel box that helps you keep it all in one place.

Quick wrap: what most peo-ple need to know

For the UK site, FatFace says most items can go back in new, un-used shape with tags on with-in 28 days from de-liv-er-y, and you can re-turn in most FatFace and Next stores for free. If you use a home col-lec-tion route, FatFace says it is £2.50 per col-lec-tion, and that can be tak-en off your re-fund for many pay ways. For Evri Par-cel-Shop re-turns, FatFace says you need the peel-off la-bel on the des-patch note, and the re-fund can take up to 7 days once the par-cel gets to the re-turns cen-tre.

In Ire-land, the terms say 28 days (15 days for sale), store re-turns can be cred-it-ed with-in 5 days, and post re-turns are paid by you and can be cred-it-ed with-in 7 days from re-ceipt.

In the US lane, the terms say re-turns are free by post with the pre-paid la-bel on the de-liv-er-y note, and it says on-line buys must be mailed back for a re-fund and can-not be re-turned in store.

Keep your tags on, keep seals whole, keep your des-patch note, and do the try-on fast. Do that, and the FatFace re-turn pol-i-cy feels like a short walk home, not a long hike in the rain.
